  • I don’t know about you, but I am super excited to hear that Oni Press will soon be releasing a collected volume of Sarah Oleksyk’s Ivy! Congrats, Sarah! If you missed this when it was minicomics, you can read a preview chapter on her site to see what it’s all about.
  • Congratulations also go out to James Kochalka who will be appointed Vermont’s first cartoonist laureate on Thursday, March 10! Stay tuned to find out more details about the celebrations.
  • The Mildred Pierce Zine is pleased to announce its fourth issue which is themed “Comedy and the Grotesque.” The first release party will be is this Sunday, Feb. 6, 7-10pm at Current Space in Baltimore, MD. Quimby’s Bookstore will also host a release party on Sat. Feb. 26 at 7pm.
  • Twin Cities Public Televicion (TPT) recently aired a feature on Zak Sally.
  • Jordan Shiveley at Grimalkin Press has some exciting new announcements about upcoming publications!
  • There’s a new online store for buying and selling digital comics and other illustrated books called The Illustrated Section.
  • The first annual Mini-Comics Day has been announced for April 9, 2011. Seems like it is something like 24-hour comics day but with the focus on actually printing and making the comic that day, too.
