Dakota McFadzean is from Regina, Saskatchewan, where he has spent much of his time drawing. Sometimes his comics appear in local papers and magazines. Occasionally they appear elsewhere in galleries, magazines, and cigarette machines. He lived in Montreal for a couple of years, where he self-published two 24-page comic books, both of which he wished didn’t exist now, but nonetheless led to new adventures.
To keep himself emotionally stable while working a day job, Dakota began drawing a daily sketchbook comic on January 10, 2010. The comics are usually posted to his blog every Sunday.
Dakota is currently packing for his move to Vermont where he will pursue his MFA at the Center for Cartoon Studies.
