  • The nominees are in and voting has begun for this year’s Maisie Kukoc Award for Comics Inspiration. The winner will be announced on April 23 at Stumptown.
  • ACT-I-VATE has announced the launch of John Kerschbaum’s new series, Cartoon Boy. New funnies every Tuesday.
  • Melissa Auf der Maur (Smashing Pumpkins, Hole) will be signing Out of Our Minds (OOOM) at Quimby’s on Saturday, April 24, 6pm.
  • Outbound #2: A Sci-Fi comics anthology from the Boston Comics Roundtable, is now available for order. Outbound is a spin-off of sister publication Inbound, an anthology of comics from Boston. Outbound contains comics and short stories from a mix of Boston-based creators and artists all over the world.
  • Gabrielle Bell is in the middle of explaining, in comic form, just what exactly is the deal with this news about her updating the SCUM Manifesto.
  • The New York Times recently profiled They Spoke Out: American Voices Against the Holocaust, a 10-part series of “motion comics,” and a collaboration between Disney Educational Productions, the David S. Wyman Institute for Holocaust Studies, and artist Neal Adams.
