  • Minneapolis-based cartoonist Ryan Dow won the Best Webcomic award at this year’s SPACE (the Small Press and Alternative Comics Expo) for his top-notch series, Introspective Comics.
  • Did Frank Miller just join Twitter? Geekosystem offers five reasons why it might be him and not an imposter [Yes, this is, in fact, Frank Miller. -ed.].
  • Seventy-five years ago, Amelia Earhart’s plane touched down at a Vermont airport minutes away from the building that currently houses the Center for Cartoon Studies. Now, Earhart’s making a Vermont comeback, in the form of a new graphic novel about her life.
  • The Festival International de la Bande Dessinee, the largest comics festival in all of Europe, wrapped up this Sunday in Angouleme, France.
  • Neil Gaiman will be speaking on Wednesday, February 3 at 8:00 PM, in Campbell Hall at UCSB in Santa Barbara, California. Get yer tickets in advance.
  • There’s a launch party for Demo II at Rocketship in Brooklyn, this Friday, February 5, at 8:00 PM. Creators Brian Wood and Becky Cloonan will be there.
  • Can you handle this? The largest-ever Dinotopia exhibit will be at the Delaware Art Museum, from February 6 through May 16. Celebrate the fantastical art of James Gurney.
  • Danielle Corsetto will be signing at Paradise Comics in Toronto this Sautrday, February 6, from 2:00-6:00 PM.
