- The most recent interview on Inkstuds is with Portland-based cartoonist Aron Nels Steinke. Steinke’s beautiful, vibrant drawings are quite deserving of attention.
- The legendary Joe Madureira will be at Forbidden Planet in London this Thursday, January 7th, from 6:00-7:00, to celebrate the launch of the new video game, Darksiders.
- “Lift Off: The Art of Airships” is the latest show at Gallery Nucleus, and the opening reception is this Saturday, January 9, from 7:00-11:00. Kazu Kibuishi is among the artists featured.
- What Things Do is a new comics Website founded by Jordan Crane. So far the site’s featured work by Crane as well as Sammy Harkam and Ted May. It’s solid stuff; hopefully we can all look forward to a glorious comic-filled future there!
- There will be a launch party and signing for volume 17 of Mome on Sunday, January 10 from 5:00-7:00 at Bergen Street Comics in Brooklyn. Many Mome contributors will be present.
- After over six years of funny, honest, crude, always-interesting comics, Erika Moen has concluded her diary comic series, DAR. Though it’s sad to see the series end, Moen is going out on a wonderful note. She recently posted a lovely final comic, as well as an essay.
- Some of the creative masterminds at Puny Entertainment have been having fun with stripes.
- The team at Elite Gudz is starting the new decade with a bang—by setting fire to the old to make way for the new.
