  • SLG Publishing has announced a new series of indie-focused comics festivals.
  • Help publish two of Box Brown’s independent comics!
  • Portland State University Library recently acquired Dark Horse Comics’ archives.
  • Tell Them Johnny Wadd is Here, a new comic series based on the infamously well-endowed porn star John Holmes’ movie character, has gone into a second printing. Get yourself a copy before Johnny exhausts himself.
  • Patrick Wensick is holding a coloring contest in honor of his new book, Sex Dungeon for Sale! If that title doesn’t inspire you to pull out a marker set, nothing will.
  • The Spring 2010 Independent Seminar with Matt Madden and Tom Hart will be enrolling soon. The course will meet Saturdays (Jan. 30, Feb. 27, April 24) from 11:00AM–5:30 PM.
  • The History of Boston: now in comic form! Finally. This 144-page trade paperback from the Boston Comics Roundtable is filled with work from dozens of contributors, all telling true tales of their hometown.
  • Australian cartoonist Jessica McLeod, creator of comics Mungo Bean and Working Class Elf is now offering adorable holiday gift packs through Etsy. Each of the two gift packs includes a cuddly hand-made plushie of her main characters, plus their corresponding comic books (signed and sketched), button, and a custom gift bag.
  • BREAKING NEWS: MoCCA Fest 2010 panels and programming are to be organized by Jeff Newelt and Brian Heater. The 9th annual art festival of comics and cartoon art is sure to be a smashing success. BE THERE Saturday, April 10 and Sunday, April 11.

 Since 2002 the MoCCA Festival offers a unique venue to experience comics, mini-comics, web comics, graphic novels, animation, posters, prints, original artwork, and more. Each year, the Festival invites dozens of established and emerging creators, scholars, and other experts to participate in two days of lecture/discussion panels on a variety of comics and cartoon topics.
