  • It’s PAX time!  The Penny Arcade Expo is coming up: September 4-6, in Seattle.
  • The Supermachine Reading Series is starting its fall series off right with a panelist of four cartoonists.  On Friday, September 11, from 8:00-10:00 PM, come listen to Austin English, Julia Wertz, Sarah Glidden, and Lisa Hanawalt at the Outpost Lounge in Brooklyn.
  • SPX has announced the nominees for the Ignatz awards of 2009.  Read up on all the nominees now, so that you can cast an educated vote at the expo.
  • And hey, if you’re gonna be at SPX, you should get there early in time for the pre-party, the night before the show starts.  That’s Friday, September 25, 2009, 7:009:00PM, at Atomic Books in Baltimore, MD.
  • Comics Comics recently conducted a short interview with Hope Larson about editing.
  • Here is an absolutely can’t-miss opportunity: Fall Out Boy will be at Midtown Comics in New York on Thursday, September 3, to sign copies of the comic book they inspired.
  • September 4-7 is Dragon Con time in Atlanta.
  • And September 11-13 is Pittsburgh Comicon time.
  • Frank Cho is making a rare appearance, on September 5 from 12:00-5:00PM.  It’s in honor of the new Comics & Friends store opening in Mentor, Ohio.
  • Uh Oh you missed it: Peter Bagge and Steve Fisk’s pop music combo “Can You Imagine?” opened for Harvey Danger at Seattle’s Crocodile Club this Saturday August 29, for what was billed as Harvey Danger’s last performance ever.
