- Joe Matt’s web presence is still pretty much just Myspace, but at least his profile has a sweet little interview he did with CBC. Listen to the end: eventually he does a Donald Duck impression.
- Adrian Tomine and Seth are on tour together! Drawn & Quarterly has the full tour schedule on their “Events” page. The first stop is Toronto; after that, the two are headed to Massachusetts. They will be speaking at the Harvard Bookstore on June 2.
- The Hawthorne High School Comic Convention is this Saturday, May 9 in Hawthorne, NJ, with guests including Mark Schultz, Joe Staton, Joe Sinnott and more.
- Also on Saturday, Cash and Carry author Tim Broderick will be signing books and meeting readers at Mystery One Bookstore in Milwaukee, WI.
- ICv2 grants us a six-page preview from Jason’s upcoming collection of short stories, Low Moon.
- Friday, May 15 in Brooklyn, NY, Bob Fingerman will be at Rocketship signing his new graphic novel, Connective Tissue.
- The Cyprus Turkish Cartoonists Association has announced its 2nd Annual “Olive” cartoon contest. Cartoonists of all backgrounds are encouraged to submit cartoons against destroying olive trees.
- Equally as political is World of Warcraft’s comics contest. Artists may submit a new WOW-related comic each month, with the possibility of winning fabulous manga-related prizes.
- Archaia Comics’ solicitations are out, and this looks like a good July ‘09. Oh hai, can I plz has Mouse Guards now? So kyoot!
