- Michael Kupperman’s book of comics, Snake’N’Bacon’s Cartoon Cabaret, has been magically transformed into a TV pilot, and will be broadcast on Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim on May 10 at 12:45 AM.
- Dark Horse Comics is throwing a contest to celebrate/promote the new Aliens comics series, which hits shelves May, 27.
- A Drifting Life got some big coverage on the front page of the Arts section in the New York Times, but the interwebs, surprisingly, didn’t get too into it.
- PictureBox publisher Dan Nadel revealed on the Comics Comics blog that he’s working on a second volume of Art Out of Time and that he and Mark Newgarden are working on a “biography/art book” on Milt Gross.
- Ed Piskor posts pages 1 – 51 of hacker drama Wizzywig Vol. 3 for our viewing pleasure.
- Gabrielle Bell (Cecil and Jordan in New York Stories, Lucky) will be at the LA Times Book Festival on April 26 with Booksoup.
- Artist Ulises Farinas, gets a shout-out from Dean Haspiel and CBR’s Robot 6 blog for a mind-blowing finished ink – a massive superhero/sci-fi crossover featuring Predator, Alien, Robo-Cop, The Punisher and more.
- Webcomics artist Frank Fisina’s niece is missing in Colorado and needs your help to find her. The girl is 14 years old (5/5/94), 5 foot 5, 120/130 pounds, has brown hair and brown eyes and vanished Saturday afternoon on the way to a friend’s house.
- This weekend (April 17th-19th) at the Stumptown Comics Festival, Sparkplug will be premiering three new books: Department of Art by Dunja Jankovic; Reich #6by Elijah Brubaker; and Bird Hurdler by Andrice Arp, Theo Ellsworth, Faryl Dalrymple, Zack Soto, Lisa Rosalie Eisenberg and Julia Gfrörer, a free book co-published with Teenage Dinosaur and Tugboat Press.
