The Cross Hatch is Two!
Categories: News

Sunrise, sunset. It seems like only yesterday that we gave the world exactly what it needed, yet another comics blog, but already the site has begun teething and walking. The next thing we know, it’ll be borrowing the car and raiding the liquor cabinet. Misguided childhood analogies aside, just wanted to take a brief moment to thank everyone out there who has helped make this site what it is.

When I launched The Daily Cross Hatch back in February of 2007, a few weeks before the New York Comic Con, the site was little more than a one man operation, and while we’ve remained a fairly lean operation, for the most part, I think it’s safe to say that the blog has, in a sense, become something more than the sum of its parts.

Which, of course, isn’t to discount said parts. Over the past two years, we’ve received a tremendous amount of support from artists, readers, and fellow journalists—so I owe a huge thanks to everyone who has ever drawn a picture, participated in an interview, linked to a story, or just told a couple of friends about the site. And, of course, I’d be remiss if I forgot to mention our writers—folks like Sarah Morean, Oliver East, Arthur Smid, and Jillian Steinhauer—in my estimation, some of the most talented people writing about indie comics today.

Okay, I’m about finished with the sentimentality. Just one last big thank you, before disappearing back into the blogosphere and a promise that we will continue to strive toward being the best indie comics blog we can be—oh, and as always, feel free to drop us a line at: dailycrosshatch@gmail.com.
