  • Jeff Lemire wins Shuster Award for Essex County at a ceremony held on June 14th in Toronto. Also a nod to Drawn and Quarterly for its’ Outstanding Canadian Publisher Award.
  • Scott Pilgrim is buzzing. The LA Times blog did a huge write-up on Bryan Lee O’Malley’s comic (and soon to be movie) and the musical inspirations O’Malley draws from.
  • Smith Magazine presents the sixth installment of Next-Door Neighbor, “Halloweens Ago.”
  • Our own E-I-C,Brian Heater, interviews Sarah Glidden over at Heeb.
  • Check out the Comic News Insider for some interviews with Mike Dawson and Monica Gallagher.
  • I Hate Zombies, the new Ken Knudtsen series sold out at WW Philly. A second printing and possibly some news from Hollywood are on the way for this popular series.
  • Mouse Guard wins the 2007 ForeWord Magazine Book of the Year Award.
  • Andrew Wahl was honored May 31st by the Society of Professional Journalists’ Excellence in Journalism Awards for his series, Surge.
  • Steve Niles’ new graphic novel, The Lost Ones, will be previewed by Zune with six video podcasts. The podcasts are behind-the-scenes looks at the artists’ processes. It’s like learning for free.
  • An “ultra-geeky” Dr. Sketchy’s is happening June 28th in Williamsburg, NY to help raise money for the CBLDF. Hosted by Molly Crabapple and John Leavitt. What makes it so ultra-geeky?
