  • Persepolis possibly banned in Lebanon. Authorities have postponed the release of the Oscar-nominated film due to the feuding of political factions.
  • Daily Cross Hatch’s own Brian Heater was a guest last Tuesday night at the Comic Book Club in NYC. Check here for the Podcast of CB Club’s “State of the Industry Address.” You can catch Laura Hudson’s (Senior Editor at Comic Foundry) response to the panel at her blog.
  • Vice posted some funnies by Julia Wertz. Some of the comments are darn right mean, but I thought they were funny, Julia.
  • Scientists discover 5,200 year old cartoon. Or they just put the pot on a record player.
  • The Comics Journal now offers online-only subscriptions. And for a limited time, Issue 288 will be available for free. Go! Go! [Sorry kids, time’s up! -Ed.]
  • “Off Kilter Comics” is coming to the Twin Cities. The Minneapolis College of Art and Design exhibition focuses on six artists, four of which are giving a gallery talk on April 4th followed by a reception. There’s no cost and it’s open to the public.
  • And for those who love nostalgia.
  • Dave Stevens, best known as the creator of The Rocketeer, has passed. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad tidings, but the TCJ.com free-issue promotion ended on Sunday evening.

Thanks Dirk. Good excuse to break out the crossed out font style.
